  • Kevin Hughes
    Kevin HughesKevin joined TJ&S in 2002 as a Property/Casualty Account Executive.

    Prior to TJ&S, Kevin worked for Liberty Mutual for two years as a Senior Account Representative where he managed large accounts and developed new business. He also worked for Conover and Associates for eight years as a producer and marketed several rent-a-captive insurance programs.

    Kevin is a 1985 graduate of Peters Township High School. After completing active duty in the U.S. Navy, he returned to Indiana University of Pennsylvania and obtained a bachelor's degree in economics. He holds the professional designation of Associates in Risk Management (ARM), which he obtained in 2001. He lives in Upper St. Clair with his wife and two children.
  • Donna Lynch
    Mark E. McCallDonna joined TJ&S in 2009 as the Elite Business Account Manager.

    Prior to TJ&S, Donna worked for HHM Insurors for two years as an Account Executive where she managed large accounts. She also worked for Harte Hawke & Zupsic Insurance for eighteen years as the Marketing Manager and Hilb Rogal & Hamilton for three years as a Customer Service Representative.

    Donna is a 1982 graduate of Northgate High School and a 1985 graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design. Her and her husband Terry reside in Hickory, PA.
  • Mark E. McCall
    Mark E. McCallMark joined TJ&S in 2001 as an Account Executive, specializing in Domestic and International Property and Casualty Program reviews, design and placement. In 2004, he was promoted to Vice President of the Property/Casualty Department.

    Prior to TJ&S, Mark worked for Chubb & Son, Inc. He began as a Senior He was promoted to the position of Manager for the Commercial Insurance and Technology Specialties in 1998. He has also held titles of Assistant Vice President and Underwriting Officer. He has also worked for the Travelers Insurance Company, attaining the level of Senior Account Analyst.

    Mark is a Norwin graduate and 1988 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in finance and economics. He holds the professional designation of Associate in Underwriting, as well as having completed coursework toward the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters designation. He lives in Elizabeth Township with his wife, Allene, and four children.
  • Robert E. Niebel
    Robert E. NiebelBob joined TJ&S in 2006 as an Account Executive - Property/ Casualty.

    Prior to TJ&S, Bob worked for Liberty Mutual Group for 23+ years in a variety of roles. He has experience in management, sales, service and claims.

    Bob is a 1978 graduate of Shaler Area High School. He obtained a bachelor's in business management from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1982. Bob is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).

    Bob and his wife Lynn reside in Mars. They have one daughter, Sarah, who attends college.
  • Joseph Sell
    Joseph SellJoe joined TJ&S in 2009 as the Marketing Manager in the Property & Casualty Department.

    Prior to TJ&S, Joe worked for Liberty Mutual for seven years. He started as an Account Representative in the Business Sales Department and later with Helmsman Insurance Agency holding positions of Associate Broker, Broker and Senior Broker.

    Joe is a graduate of North Catholic High School and a 1999 graduate of the University of Dayton with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing. He and his wife Rachel reside in Moon Township with their three children.
  • William Stilz
    Bill StilzBill joined TJ&S in 2004 as the Director of Loss Control and Account Executive in the Property/Casualty Department.

    Prior to TJ&S, Bill provided loss control and account management services for several major insurance carriers. Positions with these carriers have included Regional Loss Control Manager and Specialist in the areas of workers' compensation, general liability, products liability and fleet. Bill has also served for over 25 years as an Adjunct Professor for Community College of Allegheny County and has guest lectured at several universities in the Pittsburgh area on safety and insurance-related topics.

    Bill is a 1975 graduate of Grove City College with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He holds a Certified Safety Professional Designation and is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
  • Todd Whiteman
    Todd WhitemanTodd began his insurance career with TJ&S in 1998 and is an Account Executive in the Property/Casualty Department.

    Todd is a graduate of Plum High School and has attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the Community College of Allegheny County. He is completing coursework toward the professional designation of Associate in Underwriting. He lives in South Hills with his wife and two children.
  • Scott Bishop
    Scott BishopScott Joined TJ&S in April of 2008 as a Senior Account Executive specializing in employee benefits. Prior to TJ&S, he was a Senior Sales Executive with Meyer & Eeckenrode / Sky Insurance / Huntington Insurance, concentrating on business development and retention within the Group Benefits arena.

    Scott is a local Pittsburgher who graduated from Upper St. Clair High school. He received a bachelor's degree in economics from St. Lawrence University. He then spent 10+ years in the Boston area as a National Sales Manager and Territory Manager for two engineering and manufacturing firms.

    Moving back home, he now lives in Upper St. Clair with his wife and three boys. He is a board member of the Arc of Greater Pittsburgh, part of the Achieva family of companies, active in the Special Olympics and likes to spend time golfing, skiing and playing paddle tennis.
  • J. Timothy Faller
    J. Tim FallerTim joined TJ&S in 1994 as an Account Executive in the Employee Benefits Department. In 1997, Tim became a Partner and was named Vice President, Employee Benefits.

    Tim is originally from Erie and a 1980 graduate of Edinboro State College. Tim moved to Pittsburgh to join Liberty Mutual in 1981 as a life/group representative. In 1985, he became a consultant with Johnson & Higgins of Pennsylvania until joining TJ&S.

    Tim lives in Wexford with his wife, Laurie, and two children.
  • Dick Farrell
    Dick FarrellDick , along with Tom Whiteman, purchased Tucker, Johnston & Smelzer in 1994.

    Dick began his insurance career as a Group Representative with General American Life, eventually becoming a Regional Pension Manager in St. Louis. Returning to Pittsburgh, he spent four years as an Account Executive with a large regional brokerage, leaving to start Farrell Benefit Consultants.

    Dick is a native Pittsburgher and a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Youngstown State University. He spent two years in the United States Army and has been a director with the Boys and Girls Club for the past 10 years. Dick is an avid, but inconsistent golfer. He lives in McCandless with his wife, Jean. They have three children and two grandchildren.
  • Joe Farrell
    Joe FarrellJoe has been with Tucker, Johnston & Smelzer since 1994.

    Joe began his insurance career with General American Life as a Group Representative in the Los Angeles office. He returned to Pittsburgh as Group Sales Manager for CNA and then with the Equitable Life Insurance Company. He then joined Farrell Benefit Consultants.

    Joe is a native Pittsburgher and is a graduate of Central Catholic High School and the University of Pittsburgh. He is an avid golfer and skier. He resides in McCandless with his wife, Mary. They have a daughter, Beth.
  • John Farrell
    John FarrellJohn joined TJ&S in 2004 as an Account Executive in the Employee Benefits Department. Prior to TJ&S, John worked as an Employee Benefit Consultant for the SMC Business Councils.

    John is very active in his community and volunteers his time coaching basketball in Pleasant Hills where he lives with his three children.
  • Richard E. Farrell, Jr.
    Rich E. Farrell, Jr.Rich joined TJ&S in 1995 as an Account Executive in the Employee Benefits Department, selling benefits and consulting services to companies throughout the tri-state area. Rich became a Partner at TJ&S in 2006 and was promoted to Vice President of the Employee Benefits Department in 2008.

    Prior to TJ&S, Rich worked as a Group Representative for Guardian Life Insurance Company, selling group medical, dental, disability and term life insurance. Rich is a 1990 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He is an active member of Vistage International.

    Besides TJ&S and his clients, Rich is dedicated to his faith, family and friends. He is also the #1 ranked ping-pong player at the agency! Rich resides in Wexford with his ever patient wife Kathy and two children, Jordan and Caden.
  • Thomas A. Finneran
    Tom FinneranTom joined TJ&S in 1999 as an Account Executive, bringing with him more than 13 years of experience in the employee benefits field. He represents clients from all industries, with many educational institutions and technology firms as clients.

    Prior to joining TJ&S, Tom was the Director of Sales and Broker Relations for UPMC Health Plan, one of the fastest growing health plans in the United States. Before that he was a Principal with W.F. Morneau and Associates, an international benefit consulting firm that managed trade association benefit plans throughout the U.S. and Canada. Locally, the firm was responsible for the management of the Pittsburgh Technology Council's benefits programs.

    Tom is a 1983 graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in finance. He also holds a Group Benefits Associate Certification from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Tom is a frequent guest speaker at organizational workshops, presenting the latest benefit ideas and trends. He lives in Upper St. Clair with his wife and daughter.
  • Kenneth Kohnfelder
    Ken KohnfelderKen joined TJ&S in 2007 in the Customer Service Department. He obtained his PA Group Life and Health license later that year and transitioned to the Sales Department. He is taking courses for the CEBS designation.

    He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and obtained his bachelor's degree in criminology. He received an MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh . Ken worked for the City of Pittsburgh as a Police Officer for 12 years. Due to a job related knee injury, he was forced to retire from the and fortunately ended up at TJ&S. Ken believes his experience in dealing with difficult situations serves him well in the insurance field.

    Ken lives in the South Hills area with his wife and two children.
  • Melissa Baugh
    Melissa BaughMelissa joined TJ&S in 2007 as the Personal Lines Manager. She relocated to Pittsburgh from Columbiana, Ohio, where she had been a Personal Lines CSR at the Sandy & Beaver Insurance Agency since 2004. Prior to entering the insurance industry, Melissa followed a career in the mortgage banking/ appraisal industry.

    Melissa is a 1995 graduate of West Middlesex High School in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania . She is a 1999 graduate of Gannon University in Erie Pennsylvania , where she obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration.
  • Richard Meyer
    Richard MeyerRich joined TJ&S in June 2009 as a Senior Account Manager for Personal and Commercial Lines.

    Prior to joining TJ&S, Rich was an owner and Vice President of the Meyer & Eckenrode Insurance Group from 1979 to 2000. He was also the Personal Lines Manager of the agency from 1990 to 2006. The agency was sold to Sky Insurance in July of 2000 and Rich continued to work for Sky Insurance from 2000 to 2007.

    Rich is a 1975 graduate of Carlynton High School and a 1979 graduate of Bethany College in Bethany, WV, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.

    Rich currently resides in Rosslyn Farms. He is active in the Carnegie-Collier Rotary Club and serves on the Boards of the Chartiers Valley Salvation Army as well as the Carnegie Community Development Corporation.
  • Christine SolitroChristine Solitro
    Christine Solitro joined TJ&S, Inc. in April of 2006 as the Director of Operations & Finance. As Director of Operations & Finance, Ms. Solitro is responsible for supervising the firm's financial operations, as well as handling the finance and accounting information required for customer service and support. Her duties include financial reporting and analysis, processing of payroll, benefits plans, accounts payable/receivable; and overall responsibility for the firm's computer system. Additionally she is responsible for developing policies and practices that provide a balanced Human Resource program throughout all divisions.

    Prior to joining TJ&S, Christine spent 20 years in the Financial Services Industry in Finance and Accounting in Ohio. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Akron and SHRM Studies for Senior Professional in Human Resources designation.
